Hex Totem

A good friend of mine asked me to help him build a festival totem prior to Burning Man 2016. We quickly built something out of wood with a table saw and my X-Carve machine. My friend brought it to Burning Man 2016, 2017 and 2018. As we started plans for Burning Man 2019, my friend expressed a desire for a completely rebuilt from the ground up totem that still retained the original design but needed to look a million times better.

Assembly

  • Six outside shell pieces printed using transparent PETG+ plastic.
  • Shaft collar printed with black PLA+
  • Carbon-fiber tube (.875” ID x 1” OD x 48” length)
